While his experience with their Cuban pizza didn't quite hit the mark—a thick, chewy crust paired with chorizo instead of the expected pepperoni—he found the Breaded Palomilla comforting, although not memorable. On the other hand, favorites like Vaca Frita received glowing praise from Nilsa R., who applauded the perfect crisp and savory sautéed onions—a classic must-try.
Additionally, Rachel D. highlights the consistent quality and generous portions offered, emphasizing the reasonable prices and the lively music that fills the space. “ I have been less than frequent patron of La Giraldilla. Nevertheless it is an Excellent place to go eat. The attention from waitresses is superb as they all serve you well. The food is very, very good, delicious, although I always ask for the same dish lol, (Bistecs salteado) other accompany friends agree with my assessment. The restaurant is ample, familiar, theres live music at times. There is a terraza area for the outside eater or smokers I guess. I recommend it. ”
“ Love that I can bring my dog with me on the patio! Never heard of a Cuban pizza but couldn't wait to try it. The mango drink was perfectly revitalizing without being too overpowering! The shrimp cocktail came with HUGE Shrimp and a custom sauce that beings out the flavor of the shrimp. Love the pepperoni Cuban Pizza: Its CHEEEZZZY, Creamy, Chewy and delicious. ”
“ I grew up in the Caribbean eating Rican, Cuban and Dominican foods so I am well versed in the food and stop at many latino places for a taste of home. This place is Cuban and has been around for quite some time. Food places many times go out of business so I stopped in to see why this one persists because I've never heard anyone talk about it. I started with the Cuban Pizza. I have never found one I like and this one is no different. The cheese is different and the crust is always thick and chewy. What I do love is chorizo instead of pepperoni. Not for me but the Cuban people love it. Next I had Breaded Palomilla with rice and beans, a childhood favorite. This one was ok, a passable version. Flavors were a tad off from what I am used to and the breading kept falling off. Again, it was ok. The last dish was fried green plantain stuffed with shrimp in red sauce. As with the other items, just ok. Tiny shrimp from frozen or canned. Sauce was passable. The draw for this place must be the nightlife. At lunchtime on a Thursday, the place was deserted but the prep work was a signal of things to come. An indoor and patio bar, seating inside, outdoors and in the indoor patio were more suited to a drinking and festivities. They have a stage and play various types of music like salsa, merengue, disco and bachata. ”
“ I always get the vaca frita and it never disappoints. The meat has the perfect crisp and the flavor is amazing, along with the sautéed onions. Also I have ordered the arroz frito for a catered service and they add a lot of shrimp plus it comes with a large order of sweet plantains . The staff here are very nice and the ambience is pretty calm at the time I go. During the night, I believe they have the night club so it might be completely different ”
“ Siempre visitamos este lugar , la comida muy rica , el servicio rapido , las margaritas un poco raras de sabor .. esta ultima ves nos llenamos de humo porque el steak salteado parecia una chimenea de carbon , nos dejo sin respiracion .. debenntener mas cuidado los clientes no desean llenarse de humo ”
“ The Cuban good here is the best! Our server, Alex, was excellent and so helpful since it was our first time there. If you like real Cuban food this is your place! ”
“ they have updated the restaurant a lot iver the years and continue to make improvements each time i come here. service is always great, and servers are very attentive. the prices are very reasonable and they do not skimp on the servings, as you can see in my picture a personal sized pizza (about 12") love this place and they play a lot of good classic hispanic music. the food is always fresh and hot and tasty! ”
“ Love La Giradilla on Hanley rd. The food is great, family atmosphere I go every week it never gets tired ”
“ The place have good prices and the food is very good. There is available parking and the service is good. The restaurant looks dirty and finishes are terrible. Pizza is great and so cheap, about $7 per personal pizza enough for 2. Fried rice is loaded for about $15 and vaca frita is great at about $13. Go check it out but do not expect a fancy dinner experience. ”
